December Seller Spotlight

December 15, 2021

One of the best parts of working for Corjl is getting to meet designers from all over the world! Today we are highlighting the creative owner behind the shops The LoveBirds Design + Marryful.

Sarah began her business in February of 2020 right before Covid started and has used Corjl ever since. So far, her business has been solely on Etsy, but she has  been working on a second shop that will be connected with Shopify. Her business is based in Vienna Austria and has had customers from many places, but mainly from the US.

We got the honor of asking Sarah a few questions regarding her shop – how she got started, why she chose Corjl and the ideas she has for her business in the future.

Q: Has Corjl helped you in your business?

A: I love to work with Corjl, because it’s a very convenient platform that offers all you need not just for the seller, but also as a customer. As a seller, I am able to create beautiful designs and I do have full control of what the customer can change and what they cannot. My customers are free to edit the designs to their own wants and needs, add photos or even graphic elements that make the invitations “their own” personalized invites. With this platform, it’s not only easy, but actually really cheap to design stationery templates that are really tailored to their special day.

Q: I see that you specialize in Wedding Templates, but you also have a variety of event stationery. Do you have a favorite event or style you like to design templates for the most?

A: I love to design wedding stationery. Although I do have some templates for birthdays, graduation parties, and even funerals. I love to do weddings the most because there is so much variety. There are so many different kinds of stationery you may need at your wedding and also before which opens up a big room for creativity.

Have you had any customer’s comment on using Corjl for their purchased items?

A: Yes, I’ve had many comments on how easy it is to work with Corjl.

Here is what a few of them have said, “These templates are so beautiful. The editing platform is so easy to use, and the downloading/printing is a breeze.”

I’ve never used any kind of design/editing program before, but I was still able to get the hang of Corjl relatively easily. The seating chart looked great once I printed it out! I’d order from this seller again if I’m ever in the market for this sort of thing again.”

“Beautiful design and easy-to-use interface to customize them – and she was super responsive when we wanted to swap out the Save The Date!”

Q: Looking back at where your business began how have you made it to where you are today?

A: It was (and still is 😉 ) a lot of hard work and as always in marketing, you do a lot of trial and error. You try something and if it works you try to do more of it, and if it does not you try something different.  It was also not very easy to start this shop in English but it was a decision I made because customers in Austria are not soooo tech-savvy and I really wanted to do design templates as creation is a real passion for me.

Q: Where do you hope to see your business in the years to come? Do you see yourself expanding to other events and offering different kinds of templates?

A: I hope to be able to create a steady income and want to do it as a full-time job. I want to build my own online shop without having to rely solely on Etsy. I wish to do collaborations with wedding planners and photographers to get my designs in front of the eyes of future brides and grooms.

Q: Do you have any advice for other business owners that may be starting out on their journey?

A: Do not give up 🙂 Things may be hard and do not work out as planned but if you are really dedicated you will find a way to make it all work.

Q: It is always fun to try and paint the picture of a “day in the life” of a designer. What does a typical workday look like for you?

A: My Etsy business is a side hustle for me at the moment. I do work in marketing for a big company in Austria, so a typical workday looks like:

5:00 get up

6:00 go to the gym

9:00 to 17:00 work my 9-5 time job (I do social media advertising for a company as part of their online brand communication team)

18:00 – 19:00 commute home get some stuff at home done

19:00 – 22:00 (sometimes more, sometimes less) work on my Etsy Shop

On the weekends I do have more time for my Shop. I try to create listings in bulk on the weekend to publish one for each day in the week. I also schedule my social media accounts on the weekend. During the week I answer customer messages and review ads.

At the moment we do have our fourth lockdown in Austria, therefore I cannot go to the gym and do have more time to work on my shop.
